Since the release of Raheem Devaughn’s new album “The Love & War MasterPeace” I have been inspired by “INNER PEACE” and the “LOVE inside of ME” (Dr. Cornel West). “The Love & War MasterPeace” album has made me realize that if we don’t have INNER PEACE or LOVE within ours hearts we will be living like we are “Bulletproof”. If we live like we are “Bulletproof” it will be hard to LOVE ourselves and others. If we don’t LOVE ourselves how can we display our master pieces through our talents and gifts. People let’s keep pursuing our dreams with LOVE and RESPECT within our hearts. Remember the world is yours!
P.S. In my opinion, Raheem Devaughn is our modern day Marvin Gaye, not to mention they both are from the DMV.
Thank you Raheem Devaughn for quality music that presents the true meaning of “LOVE”, “PEACE” and “HOPE”. I encourage everyone to pick up a copy of this album at your local stores, iTunes, Amazon, etc. ![]()

Walking the through the yard of the “Mecca” Howard University you notice the people you have made friends with throughout the years, all vary from looks to from where they are from. Coming to Howard as a freshman and now a junior I have met people from Florida to South Africa with everyone letting everyone else know how great there city is. Students who arrive on Howard University in Washington, DC many students grasp on their favorite artist from their home town.
Joey Barnes has taken putting on his city to the next level. If I met someone that reps there city to the fullest is a young man named Joey Barnes born in Bed-Stuy section of Brooklyn New York. Through having a conversation with him recently I found something out I would have never expected. He explained to me he was an up and coming musician. Writing music from the age of twelve he reps his city and gets his voice out through music. He mentioned that with his home studio he produced, recorded released a mix tape called “Meet the Skewl Boy”. I asked him what he wanted to do with his music and he responded I’m trying to reach anybody that relates to the content in my music and also, believes in me, my music and the art of rap.
Snoop Dogg once said “I’m just what I do best and that’s what makes good music, and that’s how you can relate to people” It is this kind of “good music” that I strive forward to producing and performing.” This young man named Joey Barnes with the stage name Joey B has a bright future not just in the music industry but in life. You can listen to his mix tape “Meet the Skewl Boy” at http://twiturm.com/mrjoeyb1
